The expansion of Olympic Dam, Australia's largest underground mine, is currently being investigated. A new open pit would significantly increase the production of copper, uranium, gold and silver.

As part of the environment team, Ecological Associates is assessing conservation values potentially affected by the project. This involves ecological surveys and assessments of the mining and municipal leases and proposed routes for water, power and transport infrastructure.
